It's been an eventful first few months of 2017 for all of us at Novosco - literally! A whole range of events, across the UK & Ireland, maybe we've seen you at some of them, if not then we hope to see you at some in the future!
We exhibited at Cloud Expo, March 15th & 16th at London's Excel, the UK's largest techology event and the world's largest independent cloud event. People from across the UK and from even further afield gathered in London's Docklands area to seek out expert opinion, learn about new solutions and approaches, and hopefully find something that they can adopt in their own organisations.
Our technology experts , Barrie Canning and Dave Beesley gave talks on 'the importance of cloud security, SaaS and hybrid cloud', and, ‘The trouble with SaaS and Hybrid Cloud.’ To download the presentations click here.
Alongside talking to visitors about how we can help their organisations with managed solutions, network security, and infrastructure, we were also giving away an Apple TV each day for the fastest lap on our Scalextric race track. Unsurprisingly, this got pretty competitive!
Institute of Directors Visit
We were honoured to have the new Director General of the Institute of Directors, Stephen Martin, host a roundtable lunch with local business leaders in our Belfast headquarters. The guests took in a tour of our offices and had the opportunity to try out our VR room.
Stephen Martin said, "I was delighted by [the] guided tour of the Novosco facility, which directly overlooks the dry dock where the RMS Titanic was built, and was impressed that the company mission, 'to be the fearless champions of better' was plastered onto a Superman wall mural!"
Microsoft for Business Seminar
In both Belfast and Dublin, back in February, we held seminars on the benefits of Microsoft for Business. With guest speakers from Microsoft, Dell EMC, and Microwarehouse as well as our own expert, Alan McBurney, guests learned more about the features and benefits of Office 365, Spanning, Hosted Skype for Business and Microsoft Azure, in our Belfast HQ, and the Westin Hotel, Dublin.
The events were such a success, with a high level of demand for similar events in the future, that we’re hosting a Microsoft for Business workshops in early April, delving much deeper into Microsoft Office 365, and Hosted Skype for Business.
Novosco are now the host venue for the Belfast based ‘Quantified Self’ group. The organisation explores the self-tracking, life-logging, and personal analytics available in the modern age where the Internet-of-Things makes micro analysis-and-improvement more possible and achievable than ever before. The first meet-up featured a talk from professional cyclist, David McCann, who was a multiple Irish national road race champion, Commonwealth Games medallist, and record holder in the 25 mile time trial.
